Departing Cairns, on your fabulous Cairns To Cooktown Bloomfield 4WD Tour, we head due North and take in magnificent views of the Coral Sea as we head towards Port Douglas. Our first stop is our local cafe Beechwoods Cafe for a lovely Daintree tea & coffee and homemade scones and jam. Continuing North, it is not long before we cross the mighty Daintree River via vehicle ferry and make our way through the ancient Daintree Rainforest. If we’re lucky, we may even see a Cassowary! We’ll also go for a secluded beach walk right on the edge of the rainforest, where the “rainforest meets the reef”.

Leaving Cape Tribulation behind, we’re now ready to tackle the iconic 4WD Bloomfield Track. Having “survived” the 4WD Bloomfield Track, we’ll pass through the small Aboriginal community of Wujal Wujal. Then you’ll probably enjoy a “coldy” at the ledgendry 1875 Lions Den Hotel. Shortly after your Cairns To Cooktown 4WD Tour arrives in picturesque Cooktown, where we’ll buy you a wonderful, tasty lunch at the Sovereign Resort Hotel.

Refreshed, you now have the option to head to Cooktown’s exciting new exhibition, the Waalmbal Birri Heritage & Culture Centre (admission not included in tour cost). A visit to Cooktown would not be complete without taking in the panoramic views from Grassy Hill Lookout, more photo opportunities!

And yes, we’ll stop & admire Captain James Cook’s monument on the bank of the Endeavour River, see where his crew repaired the Endeavour, another photo opportunity must!

Heading home via the inland outback route, it is not long before we stop at the mysterious Black Mountain, a geological world wonder!  Or perhaps, as some have suggested, it is the work of ancient Aliens? You decide. Further South we travel through the Palmer River Goldfields where we’ll stop for a leg stretch and more photo opportunities.
South of Mt Carbine, we may be lucky enough to see one of our largest birds, the Australian Bustard.
It’s now time to settle back and relax as we head home after your adventurous Cairns To Cooktown 4WD Tour.
